Purchase Closing Date

Today, the deal to purchase Rainshadow is officially closed. We now are boat owners again.
After much searching, we’ve found this Nicholson 38 sailboat that will carry us to many adventures. We wanted a stiff cruising sailboat rather than a tender racing sailboat. We also like her well-protected center cockpit, and separate aft cabin. We consider her ketch rig to also be a positive feature, though neither of us have sailed a ketch before so we have lots more to learn about sail trim.
Rainshadow has been very well kept by her previous owners. She’s got lots of original equipment, with some of it rebuilt. She’s kitted out for long distance cruising, even passagemaking, so the possibilities with this boat are endless.
